Charles - two points. First, Shakespeare is still read in old English and no one considers that eccentric. That was the language into which the KJV was translated, and many people consider it to be formal English and worthy of God's majesty, just as the language of the British parliament etc are still used today. I go to extremes - I use the NIV as my modern Bible and the third century Peshitta as my ancient text.. It is translated directly from Aramaic to English skipping the to Greek and to Latin translations. I consider it far more informative as a historical book, and this is, after all, what we are dealing with.

Second, your feigned amazement at a Christian science operation is irrational - there are a good number, and they do all the science anyone else does, using the same evidence, but in my opinion, coming up with a far more logical answers. Evolution and materialism are based on assumptions. Faith! - At least 14 minimum to accept evolution. You can provide NO explanation as to where mass, energy and time came from for a big bang, nor how a random explosion can create order, precision.and beneficial laws of physics. You cannot explain the formation of useful amino acids, for as the possibly fraudulent experiments of Miller/Urey demonstrated, life-producing aminos cannot be produced by anything but existing life. Nor can you suggest a method by which all these non-existent aminos formed proteins, nor how these non-existent proteins assembled them selves in the right order, at the right time, in the right conditions to form the simplest cel. NOR have you any possible theory on how that simplest of cells created the 1000 pages of complex data and code necessary for it to exist. And that cel would necessarily be a virus, which had no host upon which to draw. And no possibility of reproduction.

But your "arrogance" if I may use that word ignores the fact that almost every scientific discipline used in science today was the result of a creationist exercising his discovery of his Creators world, Newton, Kepler, Watts, Pascal, Pasteur, etc. You cannot classify fossils without using creationist Linneaus' taxonomy., etc. I attended a conference last year with perhaps 15 speakers - all PHD's, most tenured professors, one invented the gene gun making genetic engineering possible, etc. The worlds leading expert on karstology. ALL former evolutionists, all had become creationists because of the EVIDENCE. Anthony Flew wrote of his journey from atheism to intelligent design, based on evidence and titles his book: There is a God.

You would increase you knowledge of the world and science immeasurably by looking at the research done by these scientists rather than diminishing their spectacular work out of hand, a very unscientific position to take. Did you know that about 90% of the fauna and flora existing today is found buried with the dinosaurs and no visible change has occurred since? Did you know that the argon dating of volcanoes is totally unreliable - samples from the 1976 eruption in NZ were tested by GeoChron of Boston at 3.3 my? Do you understand the RATE project and its research into polonium halos? Can you explain C14 in Diamonds, coal and t-Rex fossils?

There 's so much you will never know if you stay in your scientific ghetto. take a chance - look outside. Its OK! I used to think like you do, but the facts got in the way. I understand your pain when your paradigm collapses. Been there.

CORRECTION!! Lee, My previous response, below, was to CharlesF. and was in your defense!! I am a devout Christian, a birder and a newer blogger and I guess I entered my comment in the wrong spot!! Sorry for any misunderstanding and thank you for your gracious and calm response.

This message was in response to CharlesF. It was a tongue-in-cheek response to try to get a point across to him. I especially wanted to comment on his "certainty" that it would be impossible for God to create the world in 7 days by pointing out the fact that he is basing his ideas on a human perspective, which is the fundamental flaw in Charles' reasoning.

Clarification - My previous response, below, was to CharlesF...
"A Believer" wrote... It would be understandable for an atheist to be “scared of the responses”. Sure, “science” created everything, just one big bang and every creature and living thing was created, with DNA and everything. No intelligent design. Really? By the way, science and religion do not contradict each other. Also, your certainty that it would be impossible for God to create the world in 7 days is based on your human perspective and understanding. That is the fundamental flaw in your reasoning. Your responses sadden me. Also, calling this blogger “stupid”, is extremely rude. You are well spoken and articulate, why not use that for “a greater good”.
