Lee's Birdwatching Adventures Plus

Luk 12:24  Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds?

I am excited about doing this blog because I love birdwatching, being outdoors in God’s creation, my husband of 45 years (our photographer), and most of all, the Lord Jesus Christ for creating it all and saving my soul.

In August of 2006, I had major surgery on my back because of both sciatic nerves being pinched. After the surgery, which removed that pain, I lost the use of my legs. In therapy, they asked me what I most wanted to do when I recovered. I told them I wanted to get back out in the field birdwatching. Progressing from a walker, to a cane, to waddling like a duck, to a few remaining issues, I am now out and about birdwatching. I praise the Lord for helping me through all of this.

Maybe this is why I appreciate every time I can be out there with the birds and all of God’s Creation. I am not the world’s best birder, I don’t identify them correctly all the time, but I love birdwatching.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost a year since the “Lee’s Birdwatching Adventures” blog and then this one, “Lee’s Birdwatching Adventures Plus” were started.

This is a paraphrase of an e-mail received today:

“If you have missed knowing me, you have missed nothing. If you have missed some of my blogs, you might have missed a laugh or a lesson. But, if you have missed knowing my LORD and SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST, you have missed everything in the world.

God is so big He can cover the whole world with his Love and so small He can curl up inside your heart.”
