  1. The sober (and forceful) message of Matthew 24:12 somewhat “whacks” (pardon the pun) you upside the head, if you think about it…

  2. Cedar Waxwings visit my neighborhood only briefly, in my neighborhood, as they migrate. (Bohemian Waxwings haven’t visited my neighborhood during the 17 years we have lived here, so far as I have seen — however, we do get to see congregations of their Cedar Waxwing cousins, sometimes.) If I’m not paying attention, however, I must wait till the next migration cycle, so I try to watch when it gets near migration time. (This seems odd because Cedar Waxwings over-winter in Texas, but apparently not in my neighborhood.) When they do visit, it’s a huge crowd (i.e., dozens), perching in my tree branches and resting on my bushes, often eating berries. A flock of hungry waxwings is a happy sight to see — if I am privileged enough to be watching when that time comes around. By the way, speaking of things “Bohemian”, the “Bohemian Goose” is a very precious and historic witness to Biblical Christianity — see https://leesbird.com/2014/12/10/a-bohemian-goose-and-a-saxon-swan/ .
