Job 34:2 is a good reminder that we learn by listening. Psalm 1 reminds us that it matters who we listen to. Of course, reading is an equivalent to listening, so it matters what we are reading. Nehemiah 8:8 reminds us that it is God’s Word that we need to listen to (or read), so that we can know what is right. Then, of course, we need to do what is right — the doing is wisdom in action, like building one’s house (or life) upon rock instead of sand (Matthew 7:24-27).

Great thoughts and verses, Dr. Jim. Too many don’t really listen to what is being said, but are waiting to jump in with their own opinion.
