Whistling Ducks Looking As Turtle Disappears
Our welcoming Whistling Duck provided some entertainment when they encountered our local Turtle. He was trying to mind his own business, but the Black-bellied Whistling Ducks where quite curious. Here is a video, I attempted to patch together. Still trying to learn the procedure.
“Then God said, ‘Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind’; and it was so.” (Genesis 1:24 NKJV)
Oh, the joys of looking out our back door! I hope the main flock that took off on Saturday are safely at their migration destination. Or at least, getting close.

I live on a small lake in Tampa, and have quite a large flock of these guys. They are very entertaining to watch. I even had one with an injured leg as in one of your videos. His leg must have healed because I don’t see any limping anymore. Your videos are very nice. Thank you for sharing.

Yes, they can be quite entertaining. Our injured one is still around. The foot is permanently malformed. They are getting tamer and are even copying the white Pekin ducks. They are now coming up to the patio door and looking in to see if we are coming out to feed them. :)

Love the footage of the ducks and their curiosity with the turtle Lee. Love the way they line up and check it out cautiously and then look at each other as to say “what do you make of that?” Lovely to hear the sound of the whistlers. Our flocks of Plumed whistlers are so large the sound is deafening and you have leave after a few minutes.

At least we could close our door. That is a bit hard to do when you are out and about. :)
