235 Moustached Flowerpiercer (Diglossa mystacalis) ©© Abra Barro Negro, Amazonas dept., Peru. A beautiful little bird, as are all of the flowerpiercers, found from 2400-3700m, and common along the eastern Andes in humid montane forest and elfin forest, and at the forest edge where we found this one. There are several sub-species – this is the northern sub-species D.m.unicincta.
