For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. (1 Corinthians 15:22 NKJV)
Today’s Creation Moments:
Some people think that they can believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior and at the same time believe God created through evolution. These people are called theistic evolutionists or progressive creationists. What kind of nature would a god have who creates through the death that is essential to evolution?
First, death would have to have begun from the very moment of creation. Death, disease, pain and suffering would have had to originate with this god. Long before man, according to evolution, dinosaurs were eating other dinosaurs, and entire species were dying out. Rather than loving us, such a god would be indifferent and capricious. The god that would use evolution to make living things would have no right to punish sin. He would have had no right to bring a worldwide Flood to punish sinful man. This kind of god would be nothing more than a bully. Such a god would not be likely to have given us his word. And nothing the Bible says about him could be true. If the Bible really is from him, it is full of untrue claims. Any god who created using evolution is not the God of the Bible. If you think about it, the god of evolution sounds surprisingly like the devil.
What’s wrong with believing that God created through evolution over millions of years? Any god that uses evolution and death to make us is extremely cruel. More importantly, if there was no first Adam to bring sin and death into the world, there was no need for Christ, Whom the Bible calls the last Adam, to die and save us from sin and death.
Prayer: I rejoice, dear Father, because you are gracious and merciful to me. Amen.

Oh, I forgot. I guess another explanation could be that God first created the earth without knowing what He wanted the “end product” to look like. But that seems highly unlikely to me.

Oh I wasn’t offended. I was merely making an observation.
While we are at it let’s take a look at the very first chapter in the Holy Bible.
Right off the bat God tells us that the earth exists BEFORE HE FORMED IT IN IT’S CURRENT FORM.
I’m no great theologin so it appears that (with my current understanding) that since the earth already existed BEFORE God “reformed” it.
Just look at Genesis 1:2
2And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Now if that is, in fact, the case then that would certainly put much of the “age” debatet to rest. But then it looks so simple. Perhaps that verse is there to confound the wise. Or not.

Well NO ONE ever said Darwinian evolution. That, of course, is wrong.
One thing is clear, you sure like to talk down to people.

I am sorry, I did not intend to talk down to anyone. I was just trying to explain what they were talking about in the article. There are many who want to hang on to both creation and evolution and that is all I was trying to point out.
Never intended to offend anyone.

That certainly is one view. Instead of “evolution” use the word “adapt”.
The thing that bothers me most about this post is the certainty in which the author presumes to know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, “God’s ways.”
God, Himself, killed the first animal to provide clothing for Adam and Eve. The author seems to be putting animals on the same level as humans.
“The god that would use evolution to make living things would have no right to punish sin.” What an absurd statement.
So what is your view on the earth’s climate that changes from season to season from age to age?
Animals that live in colder climates grow thicker pelts than those (who are of the same species) do in warmer, cold climates. For instance if you take a raccoon who lives on the coast of SC and a raccoon who lives in Michigan the raccoon’s pelt on the SC coast will be “thinner”.
I think you can only get “God is cruel” for killing animals only if you elevate animals to those created in His own image.

I think you missed the point of the article. If the Creator God used evolution to populate the world the way evolutionist try to explain it, then there was death before Adam and Eve. But, the Bible states that God created the earth and the animals and Adam and Eve, etc. in six days, not millions of years. “Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.” Gen 1:31
Then, because of Adam and Eve’s sin and disobedience, death came into the world. Read Genesis 3. No, God is not putting animals on the same plane as man. Man was created in the image of God, the animals were not. Also, because of their sin (Adam and Eve’s) and its consequences, there had to be a sacrifice. Up until Christ came to earth to become The Sacrifice for our sins, the sacrifice of animals were only temporary. Romans 6:10, Hebrews 7:27, 9:12, 10:10.
Also, the point of saying you believe in Christ and evolution don’t match up. Either you believe the Bible and its truth or you believe man’s opinion about evolution which denies what God and the Bible says.
Yes, animals adapt, and speciation occurs, just look at all the dogs, but that is not what is meant by Darwinian evolution.
