Wow! During the 4 times that I have visited southeastern Alaska I’ve seen many Bald Eagles, some of which may reach weights of 16 pounds (usually not exceeding 14 pounds, although one was measured in AD1876 as weighing 18 pounds); however, the massive Steller’s Sea Eagle apparently can weigh as much as 20 pounds!
They are huge, but they alluded to the Sea Eagle. We saw one of these at the National Aviary. They dwarf a Bald Eagle. See https://leesbirdblog.files.wordpress.com/2018/11/37-stellers-sea-eagle-haliaeetus-pelagicus-by-lee-27.jpg
The two enclosures were next to each other and I backed up to get both and give a perspecitive.
