Appreciating birds (including, but not limited to, Birdwatching) is the right thing to do!
Dr. James J. S. Johnson
Now begins a new Leesbird.com series (D.v.), on “Birds Are Wonderful! — And Some Are a Little Weird“.*
In this series we will learn to appreciate a variety of birds, while appreciating our great God Who made all those birds — and while also realizing that our great God made each of us who we are, though He could have made us otherwise!
Of course, birds began on Day 5, so birds are older than the human race — by 1 day — since God made the original human pair (Adam & Eve) on Day 6 of Creation Week.
Stay tuned!

Great post Dr J and very succinctly challenging. This verse from Matt 6 is what inspired me to write my first book and integrate child counselling with our Aussir birds. It is also the attention getter when giving talks as Aussiebirder, when I put out the challenge that Jesus was a birdwatcher so it must be a cool thing to do. It tends to be interesting how much we learn from birds, and now that we know how clever they are, it is not such a bad thing as we were misled to believe otherwise. But how wonderful as a human to be made in the image of our magnificent Creator Father and to be his child and brother to the One who made it all possible and is full of grace and truth we rejoice in today. Thank you for your posts throughout the year, I have appreciated them and the fact that you faithfully stand in the gap for the conservation of your birds.:-)
