He who appoints the sun to shine by day,

who decrees the moon and stars to shine by night,

who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar

— the Lord Almighty is his name:

Jeremiah 31:35

Hi, I’m wildlife photographer and nature writer William Wise. I was saved under a campus ministry while studying wildlife biology at the University of Georgia. My love of the outdoors quickly turned into a love for the Creator and His works. I’m currently an animal shelter director and live in Athens, Georgia with my wife and two teenage daughters, who are all also actively involved in ministry. Creation Speaks is my teaching ministry that glorifies our Creator and teaches the truth of creation.  — “What a wildly wonderful world, God! You made it all, with Wisdom at Your side, made earth overflow with your wonderful creations.” Psalms 104, The Message.

  1. Amen!
Of all the people I could ask, you would be the one..
Is it normal for Vermont birds to sing at night?
I don’t remember hearing birds at night in the past..
Could it be other birds migrating? or just a sign of the times?
    God Bless

    • I’ve never witnessed it, but I’ve read about how incredible the large migrating flocks of birds pass over us every spring and fall. There is an excellent, in depth book about mirgration called Living on the Wind by Scott Weidensaul that would give you the answer. (The book is full of evolutionary theory, yet also makes statements like, “yet even the tiniest of birds perform such miracles” and “propelled by an ancient faith deep within their genes” and admits that scientists are often stumped by the complexity of migration, but is easily explained by a Creator.) On page 30 he says, “And on one exceptional night off Cape Cod some years ago, radar showed an estimated 12 million songbirds pouring south.” He then goes on to desribe the “monosyllabic flight calls” as they pass overhead. So perhaps that is what you are hearing. I’m sure it is an awe-inspiring scene to witness so many birds passing over like that. William

  2. beautiful bird, by the way in the original text there is Gods actual name in the part lord, lord is a title not a name, but the tetegrammoton is there which is translated into english Jehovah. Just so you know. many people get confused who this is talking about some believe it is Jesus but Jesus never is called almighty just mighty god.
