He Is Not Here!

“He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.” (Matthew 28:6 NKJV)

Like many of you, we watched our Easter Services via YouTube, or you may have watched by however your church chose to keep your members encouraged through watching/meeting for this Easter. This “Social Distancing,” is keeping us from our normal services, handshakes, and hugs from our friends. I miss my many friends.

Our pastor had a great message for today, and thought I would share it with you. Faith Baptist Church of Winter Haven has a YouTube site with all the services and additions we are not able to attend in person. I am thankful for these and want to share two of them here. This first one is the Easter Service today with our pastor.

This next one is the “Pastor Jerry’s Musings” He is one of our associate pastors. Enjoy!

He is Risen! He Has Risen Indeed!

  1. Happy Easter Lee! Glad to see you post. I have to admit I was getting a bit worried as I hadn’t seen a post from you. I even kept checking to see if you scheduled an Easter post, and when I didn’t see one, I put one up last night. Hope you don’t mind that. But glad all is well. Hopefully tomorrow after work I’ll get a chance to view your church services. It’s a bit rainy here today, but enjoying it with my ladies: Lidia, Amanda and Megan. Wish we could be with our church family and parents, but rejoice nonetheless. God Bless! William

    • We are fine, but I seem to be suffering from SDD. It’s a new disease that I’ve named. “Social Distancing Disease” My friends and I can’t seem to stay at any task, but when the day is over, we have hardly accomplished anything. I get up in the morning, intending to post a blog, but never seem to get it done. :)

      • Well, very glad to hear you are doing well! Sorry to monopolize your blog with my articles :-). But God gave me a lot of inspiration as I was on a long run the other day! Feel free to space out the scheduling if you’d like. Again, thanks for all you do and for leesbird.com. Even the older articles are there to enjoy in these slower times !William

  2. Happy Easter, Lee. Our little church has banded together with five other churches in our region to conduct virtual services using Zoom teleconferencing software. It is cool to be able to see the faces of other people as we worship together. The pastors can project up on the screen their Powerpoint presentations with prayers and readings and songs. Equally cool is that there is a chat box that allows people to type in their prayer requests for all to see and pray for in real time. It is different, but a real blessing when we can’t have close human contact.

    • Our church has also been livestreaming service via YouTube, but doing our Bible Studies via Zoom. But even better, after each service we have a “Zoom Fellowship” where everyone logs on and can see and talk with each other. It mostly turns into children hollering for each other, but they need fellowship too. It has been almost painful to not directly fellowship with friends from church.
