I would like to apologize for my lack of posting any articles since back in February of this year. (More explanation later.) What I am really thankful for is Dr. James J.S. Johnson, Dr. Jim, as Dan and I affectionately call him.

Back in February, a number of health problems began, and it seemed like about the time I improved, some other issue came up. It seems that it has just been one thing after another. Needless to say between Doctor visits, physical therapy, medical test, using cane or walker, etc. etc., birdwatching has come to a halt other than my view out the back door.
“God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” (1 Cor. 1:9)
That top photo about describes the lack of birds lately. Like many of you around the country and parts of the world, we have had some very high heat indexes. Plus, the wintering birds have not arrived yet.
Other than Muscovy Ducks and the neighborhood Robins and Doves, there hasn’t been much going on.
Lord willing, I trust that there will be more post from me. Now that I’m improving some, I will try to at least write more about God’s amazingly Created Avian Wonders. Stay tuned!

There’s no such thing as a required schedule for blogging so I hope you will just do whatever you enjoy. A bird verse from the Bible is good (today I read about Elijah & the ravens) or a simple photo snap out the back door. All things we observe, show that God is still at work. Up here in the northwest corner of the USA (Washington State) we carry on, waiting to see what God will do.

“There’s no such thing as a required schedule for blogging”… how true and how important is that statement!!! In the past I’ve burned myself out with self-imposed blogging schedules. It took away the fun. Now I try to worry less about schedules and just simply enjoy it when I do have a chance. Thanks for the wisdom and reminder!

This past year I’ve spent so much of my time with music as opposed to blogging. I’ve been recording and posting all our church worship team songs along with the sheet music for each as a resource to other churches and new musicians. It was a much bigger project than I thought! But perhaps I’ll shift back to some blogging in 2024. Glad to chat with you again!

Thanks, Lee; it’s good to see that you are back in the blog-saddle. Speaking of hot weather, yesterday at 4pm (Texas time) my car thermometer said 119 degrees Fahrenheit (and that was with my windows down an inch or 2!)– but it “cooled down” to 110 as I drove a 1/2 hour to go home. Here we’ve had 100+ weather for several weeks, with no rain. And we are starting to see dead birds on the ground. So we are praying for rain. > JJSJ
