Time To Find and Watch Birds Again

December 17, 2024 9:41 pm

Dan at work

I haven’t been active here for several months. So, it’s time to start writing posts again. An explanation is due to those of you who follow this blog.

On October 17th, the love of my life went to heaven. “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” The Lord chose to take Dan on to be with him.  Dan developed a brain bleed 10 days earlier and never regained consciousness.

Since Dan was our main photographer, I’ll either repost previous favorite photos or use other photographers. So, bear with me as I try to get back in the “Birding Saddle”, so to say.

Galah (Eolophus roseicapilla) and Dan

This is Birdwatching really close

These last two pictures are my favorites as I caught the mischievous Galah checking out Dan’s camera and then Dan’s expression as he looked at me.

As for Dan, I’ll see him later. He, like me, accepted the Lord as his personal Savior when he was a youngster.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
(John 3:16 NKJV)
Have you accepted Him?

  1. So sorry to hear that. But he has made it to glory ahead of us!!! I’ll be glad to donate photos if you need. Just email me. I’ve had writers block but still get behind the lens. We could collaborate!

  2. What wonderful pictures of Dan and look how the bird trusted him. I believe the birds knew he was their friend. I am so sorry Dan is gone from you but I know he is seeing birds he never saw here on earth. May God bless you and comfort you Lee. Thanks for writing again – we have missed you greatly. God bless you!

  3. Wonderful pictures of Dan, and wonderful words, too — and yes, Lee, it’s high time for you to be writing blogposts again, from your birding saddle. May God bless you , Lee — after all those years you are facing Christmas without Dan, this year. I cannot imagine how you are missing Dan, after more than 6 decades of marriage. But Dan is in glory — and we all have our homecomings, in God’s timing. Anyway, may our Lord greatly and mightily (Jeremiah 33:3) bless you as this calendar year wraps up.

  4. it was so very sad to read of your loss and we felt very blessed that you shared your grief and loss with us as we prayed with thanksgiving for Dan and you, and that the Lord will strengthen and bear you up as you move forward into new beginnings. It is great to see you blogging again. Richest blessings from us (Aussiebirder and wife)
