As you know, we have not been birding, or really going anywhere much lately. So, breakfast birding is becoming our birding adventures. Lately, when we go in and out of our housing addition, we have noticed quite frequently, a Great Blue Heron sitting on some houses. Of course, I have never had a camera ready or even in the car.
BUT, when we looked out, from the breakfast table, the other morning, this is what I saw. I grabbed the camera and took these photos:

I zoomed in closer, and sure enough, there the Great Blue Heron was on my neighbors house. Back in the “old days” we used to have hood ornaments on car hoods.

Well, it’s back to relaxing until the next Breakfast bird/birds show up to entertain us. In the mean time, I have been working on my Geneology.

What a blessing Lee, the Lord sent this Heron especially for you to enjoy, placing it in a place where it is easy for you to see. I reflect on the goodness of our Lord and how he gives my wife and I gifts when we go out birding. We will be walking and disappointed not seeing anything much, and my wife will pray “Lord what special delight have you got for us today, show us Lord.” and every time within the hour we will stumble upon something wonderful, just as we did when we found the Topknot Pigeons last week. ‘The Lord is good , his love endures forever.’

Amen to that! I have prayed up birds often. It is so amazing how much the Lord loves to please us. What must heaven be like? We had a hawk land on our hook in the yard today. Couldn’t get to the camera quick enough, but he did take a bath for us that I did tape. Stay tuned!

I have to see if I can talk one of the fishing birds here to hand over some of their catch. Our neighborhood Osprey flies by quite frequently with a fish.
