Keep A Journal

Keep a Journal ~ by Ms. Lee

Out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. (Genesis 2:19 NKJV)

Golden Eagle keeps telling you to write in your Journal. So, what is a journal?

A birdwatching journal is where you put down things about the bird you are looking at now or when you are at home. I keep a list of the birds I see every time I go birdwatching. It is a little 3X5 inch Memo Book (for my pocket) and a bigger one when I am at home. Here is what I put down in mine.

  • Date
  • Time
  • Where I am
  • Weather (sunny, cloudy, raining, windy and sometimes the temperature)
  • Name of the bird if I know it
  • How many
  • If I don’t know the name, I draw the beak or wing or whatever that will help me remember the bird)
When I get home I check my Bird Guide to see if I can find out what the bird is that I didn’t know.

Things to put in your journal:

Many write the item down and sometime draw the bird or something about it.

Outdoor Birds

  • What kind of bird (if you know)?
  • How big is it?
  • What color is it?
  • Shape? (duck, chicken, heron, sparrow,…)
  • Wings? (long, short, pointed, rounded,….)
  • Did it sing or make a noise? What did it sound like?
  • Date, time, and where you saw the bird

Bible Birds

  • Did you read the name in your Bible?
  • What was the name of the bird?
  • What verse?
  • What was said about the bird?

You can put other information in your journal. We will be telling you more about each thing. Everyone’s journal is different. Yours does not have to be like mine or Golden Eagles.

Why keep a list or journal?

Birdwatchers like to make lists. They keep some of these lists:

  • Life List (all the birds ever seen)
  • Year List (each years birds)
  • Trip List (a vacation or trip)
  • Park or Place List (Park, zoo, lake,…)
  • Whatever List (your list)

Most of us that are older wish we had kept a list of birds when we were young like you. We forget what we saw and then can’t put it on our life list. I have seen more birds than what is on my list, but I didn’t keep a journal when I was younger. Most people tell the truth and only list what they saw. Don’t make up birds you think you saw just so you have a long list. As you get older, your list will grow. The Lord has many birds for you to see and enjoy.

Golden Eagle – Coming For A Meal

This is the Golden Eagle flying in for another communication. Are you guys keeping your journals? Do you have any bird stories to share with us? Some of you will be heading back to school soon! I need to share another Bible verse with you all!

And I saw an ANGEL standing in the SUN; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls (birds) that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God: that ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. (Revelation 19: 17-18)

Kiss the Son (Jesus), lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. BLESSED ARE ALL THEY THAT PUT THEIR TRUST IN HIM (JESUS).” Psalm 2:12

Boy, you don’t what to be on the wrong end of that SUPPER! We don’t what to end up on the bird’s plate! You and I need to treat Jesus Christ the right way! We need to treat His day the right way (Sunday) and , in fact, each and every day the RIGHT way! We need to treat His Word the right way, the BIBLE. Kiss the Son means treating the Son of God with respect and with the worship that He deserves! You and I were created to know and to ENJOY GOD forever! And you know what? Jesus Christ is God, or He could never have come out of the grave on the third day! His Resurrection proves that He is God and He promised to return to this Earth that He made to set up His very own Kingdom!

Black Vultures Looking For A Meal at Saddle Creek

The heat of the sun, and the birds of the sky help to break down dead plants and animals that lie around on the ground. They, along with other critters. act like God’s clean-up crew! And that is a great thing! Eventually, God is going to clean up this old earth! He will get rid of all the unsaved sinners and evil people of the world! PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE TRUSTED JESUS CHRIST AS YOUR OWN PERSONAL SAVIOR, AND THAT YOU ARE TRUSTING HIM FOR SALVATION ALONE! Bye, for now, I have to feed my little ones their supper! Smile: Remember, God loves you!!!

Golden Eagle – Birds Are Free

Lesser Frigatebird (Fregata ariel) female by Ian

Hey kids! What do birds bring to your mind? To me, the Golden Eagle, they are free from this old world. I mean that they are free from gravity! They can soar above the trees and above the beautiful mountains that God created! Speaking of gravity-Jesus walked on water! Peter walked on water and Jesus was taken away in the clouds when He went back to Heaven!

And when Jesus had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight…THIS SAME JESUS, WHICH IS TAKEN UP FROM YOU INTO HEAVEN, SHALL SO COME IN LIKE MANNER AS YE HAVE SEEN HIM GO INTO HEAVEN” (Acts 1:9,11)

Jesus and the Bible has promised that He will return to this very earth someday in the future! It might even be today! Please make sure that you are born again, that you are saved, that you have received Him, a free GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE from the Father! I for one want to live forever.

Birds are free, they can soar to new heights, they are very colorful, and just full of beautiful colors! They make their nests in many different places! Sometimes in a tree, yes in a nest that they have made. Sometimes they live on the side of a cliff or they burrow a whole in the ground like some owls. Some birds will nest right on the ground. The cool thing is that God takes care of them and He takes care of us every day.

Hey, how’s that journal coming along? Have you spotted any birds? Have you entered that in your journal? Have you run across an interesting bird story? Do any of you have a question for the Golden Eagle? Free flight, fantastic colors, and fun builders of nests! The amazing creation of birds shows us the amazing ability of an awesome God! If you look around your room or you house, do you see any material things? Of course you do. And you know that each thing you see and touch, somebody made the things that you are looking at. They did not get there by pure chance, did they? Well, this earth, the Universe, you and me, the birds did not just get here by chance! That is what evolution teaches, but that doesn’t even make any sense. Nothing happens by pure chance. If that was true, there would be no purpose or reason for being in existence at all. The Bible teaches us that God made everything.

For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is… (Exodus 20:11)
That means that God made EVERYTHING and that He controls everything. There are no accidents with God. God is in control of each thing that happens around us and each thing that happens through us! Keep your eyes open, your ears alert, and watch today for the things that God is doing in your life and around you. I am certain that Jesus Christ, who is God, will be working TODAY!
Bye until the next adventure, I see a fish in my pond and I am hungry.

Golden Eagle – Noah and the Dove

Noah and the Dove ~

Golden Eagle

Golden Eagle ©PD

Golden Eagle ©PD

Hi again boys and girls! It’s me, the Golden Eagle. In case your wondered my nest is in sunny Florida! I think there are close to 400 different species just in this state! Hey, have you started to keep your journal yet? Write done the birds you see, what the birds are doing, what time of day that you see the birds, and anything that might be out of the ordinary! This Bible and bird journey should get very interesting!

And he waited yet another seven days, and again he sent the dove out from the ark. Then the dove came to him in the evening, and behold, a freshly plucked olive leaf was in her mouth; and Noah knew that the waters had receded from the earth. So he waited yet another seven days and sent out the dove, which did not return again to him anymore. (Genesis 8:10-12 NKJV)

This whole wide earth was at one time, in the past, covered with water! Now that is really not hard to believe. Even today, the earth is covered with water, about 70% of the Earth’s surface is covered with the stuff! In our Solar System we are the only WATER PLANET! Every mountain was at one point covered with water. Scientists have even found sea shells on the top of Mt Everest! Your average Scientist thinks that Noah’s flood is just a myth, and that the surface of Mars was shaped by a flood! The truth of the Bible teaches us that the surface of the Earth was shaped by water! The Grand Canyon of the United States was carved out by a lot of water in a little bit of time. Of course the evolutionists say that the Grand Canyon was formed over millions of years by a little bit of water, the Colorado River.

On the wings of a snow white dove! The DOVE is a beautiful bird. It flies ever so gently with the color of a white snowflake. Sometimes even people today liken the Holy Spirit of God to the dove. White in holiness and purity, flying here and there, the Holy Spirit whispers to our minds and to our hearts that JESUS is indeed the Son of God, Heaven is real, the Bible is true, and after death there is something more in God’s wonderful purpose for you and me!

Hey kids! Start reading at least one chapter in the Bible each and every day! And don’t forget to join the ranks of the birders of the world! Until next time, this is the Golden Eagle soaring away into the sunset and my next meal! See Ya!!!

Golden Eagle Takes A Name

Golden Eagle Takes A Name

by Golden Eagle

Golden Eagle ©PD

Golden Eagle ©PD

Boys and girls, it’s me again! I have taken on a name: the GOLDEN EAGLE. So, if you send us messages you can simply call me the Golden Eagle. My very best friend, Jesus once said;”

Behold the fowls (birds) of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? (Matthew 6:26 KJV)

Hey, as you go through your day watch the birds! It really doesn’t look like they work to hard! Jesus is saying that His Father feeds and takes care of the birds each and every day! Now here’s a thought. I don’t know what part of the world you live in? The cool thing is that God feeds the birds every day! ALL the birds in the entire WORLD. If He takes care of the birds, He will surely take care of you in whatever situations you find yourself in. I know some things are hard to deal with, even as kids. But God is up to the task and really everything is easy for Him! So TRUST HIM! Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him (Jesus). Psalm 2:12

Boys and girls, Jesus also said in our Bible verse that you are better than birds. Now birds are neat! I am a birder, a rather new birder, I have been at this a few months. You see evolution teaches that we have evolved from a rock, an explosion, a single celled creature, etc. It teaches that we are all animals. But Jesus said you are better than the birds. The truth is that you and I were created just a little bit under the angels! And do you know that angels can fly? They fly very swiftly the Bible says! Daniel 9:21 Oh that verse is talking about the angel Gabriel coming to visit the prophet Daniel.

Remember, your Heavenly Father will take care of each of you today! You also each have a guardian angel that watches over you! Maybe we have more than one guardian angel. Eventually, we will fly like the angels! Gravity doesn’t affect them you know.

Hey, have you started your journal yet? You can write down all kinds of things. Don’t forget to send us your really cool bird stories. Have a great day and if possible attend a good church on Sunday, or any day for that matter! Until next time, this is the Golden Eagle saying Shalom!
