  1. Like the Willow Ptarmigan (pictured above), much of my time as a youth was spent, happily, outside — in my case, in the fields and forests of Maryland. How wonderful the Lord is to give us years of childhood and youth before we must take up the mantle of adult responsibilities. Yet, spiritually speaking, I am still just a child — and a happy one at that (Nehemiah 8:10).
