Birdwatching and Blessings – 6/17/21
Quiet is the word for our yard lately. Other than the Red-winged Blackbird and Mockingbird arguing over who would get to sit on the feeder pole, it has been rather boring.
This morning, only one of the Whistling Ducks showed up to feed. Maybe, the other one is sitting on a nest. That would be exciting. There are no Duck boxes around the neighborhood, so they would have to go to another location for nesting. I can only wish! It would be great to see some immature Whistling Duck swimming behind their parents.
Church Signs:
Life is good because God is great!
To have more, desire less.
The teakettle sings even when its up to its neck in hot water.
Truths To Consider:
“Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.” (Proverbs 13:10 KJV)
“Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.” (Philippians 4:11 KJV)

awww just love the mockingbirds, loved them when I used to spend the summer in nc when I was a teen. still love them today and was surprised a few years ago seeing and hearing them forthe first time in ohio on a street I was visiting and it grabbed my attention because they were singing I said they sound like mockingbird and my friend who used to live in florida concurred.

They definitely are recognizable by their sounds. They also are Very Protective of their young! They used to attack my dachshund just for getting near THEIR tree. :)

I just realized that I’m not getting any of your posts showing up in my Reader. I’m going to “unfollow” you and then “follow” you again and see if that helps. I had to do that with some other blogs a few years ago.

Sorry to hear about not getting notifications. I have been wondering lately if others are also not receiving them. I had a few times I posted something, and it was about 12+ hours before the first likes came in. Rather unusually.

I’ve had that same thing happen with several people’s blogs that I follow. Over the years, I’ve had to “unfollow” and then “re-follow” at last a half a dozen people — probably more.
But I may have just missed some posts earlier. With my sister being so ill and needing so much care and then passing away, I haven’t been staying on top of anything online for several months. But I did notice today that my Reader does not show anything for you for the last 2 or 3 posts that you’ve made.

A handsome pair of birds Lee. I guess birding from home is just like in the bush, it has its good and better seasons or occasions. Who knows what surprises our Father will bring along tomorrow :-)

Thanks. I’ll keep my eyes posted. Only problem is I’m going to see my brother about 50 miles away. Then again, I’ll keep my eyes open for the Lord’s surprises along the way. :)

We have several red-winged blackbirds at our feeders, as well as the field across the street. They’re beautiful. They sure have a piercing, high-pitched sound out of their beaks!

You are right about that. I can ID them just by that high pitch. Glad you are getting some your way also.
