Proverbs 22:6 is an amazing verse, and to understand it one must consider its immediate context, i.e., Proverbs 22:5 — see “Proverbs 22:6 — Is It a Promise or a Command or a Description of a General Trend in Human Behavior?” — posted at https://rockdoveblog.wordpress.com/2016/11/30/proverbs-226-is-it-a-promise-or-a-command-or-a-description-of-a-general-trend-in-human-behavior/ . Of course, the command to parents (and to fathers in particular) is not difficult to understand, but it is difficult to practice in daily living!
